The 2025 Green Fun Village by Continental opened last week as the official start village of the Giro-E Enel, which runs in parallel with the Giro d’Italia and is billed as the only international multi-stage event for electrically assisted bicycles.
The Green Fun Village touring expo focuses on green mobility, sustainability and energy transition. Now in its second year, the touring expo features a larger exhibition space and more activations in 2025.
Workshops, talks, product tests, music, and local engagement activities are scheduled across the 18-stage Giro-E event, which runs from May 13 to June 1, 2025.
The 2024 edition reportedly drew over 100,000 visitors and 100 organisations, with ‘45,000 sustainable giveaways handed out.’
“This will be our third year in a row as main sponsors of Giro-E’s start village,” said Giorgio Cattaneo, Head of Communication at Continental Italia. “The Green Fun Village by Continental is a hub of information and fun that can be enjoyed by people of all ages in all the cities of Giro-E.”
Roberto Salvador, Director of Giro-E Enel, said “Every year we are very excited to inaugurate a new edition of Giro-E Enel. Doing so with a preview of the Green Fun Village before the beginning of the stages shows how important our start village has become. The Green Fun Village has become a cornerstone of Giro-E.”
The initiative includes Biciscuola, an education programme promoting cycling and environmental awareness to primary school students. In 2024, it reportedly reached over 33,000 children.
Confirmed 2025 partners include Continental, Enel, MOST (National Centre on Sustainable Mobility), Trenitalia, Lombardo Bikes, Rovagnati, and MCZ, alongside rotating local exhibitors. Activities for children include a Lombardo-branded pump track and a dedicated Gaming Area.
The 2025 Giro-E Enel features 27 teams – 18 Official Teams for all stages and 9 Daily Teams. The 1,098km route includes nearly 20,000m of climbing, and travels from Ostuni to Rome.
