Marathon Tours & Travel launches search for ‘The Coolest Job on Earth’

Antarctica Marathon - Marathon Tours & Travel - Coolest Job on Earth

Marathon Tours & Travel, a leading player in running travel worldwide, has unveiled ‘The Coolest Job on Earth’ – a unique competition offering one individual the chance to work behind the scenes at the 2026 Antarctica Marathon.

The winner of the competition will travel to King George Island in March 2026 to join the Marathon Tours & Travel team in the delivery of the event. They will receive exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to one of the planet’s most extraordinary endurance events.

The successful applicant will not only support the delivery of the event but will also have the option to run either the half or full marathon, experiencing Antarctica from a unique perspective.

Marathon Tours & Travel is seeking runners, adventurers, storytellers, and content creators to apply. The application is designed as a creative challenge, requiring applicants to ‘show, not just tell’ why they deserve the role.

How to apply: Entrants must create an Instagram post answering the question: ‘Why should you be chosen for the Coolest Job on Earth?’

Requirements: The post must tag @antarctica_marathon and @marathontours and use the hashtag #CoolestJobOnEarth.

Timeline: Entries are now open and close on November 30, 2025 (23:59 EST).

The entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges, including:

  • Jeff Adams – President of Marathon Tours & Travel;
  • Nick Busca – Journalist and 2025 Antarctica Marathon participant who documented his experience for National Geographic; and
  • Stacey Leasca – Travel journalist and multi marathon runner.

Jeff Adams, President of Marathon Tours & Travel, emphasised the exceptional nature of the opportunity.

“The Antarctica Marathon is a truly life-changing event -– and I speak from experience, having been part of it many times myself.

“Given the remote and extraordinary location of the event, only a small number of runners have the chance to take part each year and this makes this an exceptionally rare and exciting opportunity for someone to join us behind the scenes. I can’t wait to see the creativity in the entries and be part of selecting the winner.”

Beyond finding the ideal candidate, the campaign also highlights the race’s commitment to environmental protection through its partnership with Oceanites, which supports environmental causes in Antarctica.
