Celebrating trail running in summer 2025, New Balance is kicking off the first of five years as title sponsor of Mont-Blanc Marathon.
In tandem with the new sponsorship, the run shoe brand is also unveiling updated colour-ways of its Hierro v9 trail shoe.
Held this year, on June 26-29, the Mont Blanc Marathon is a trail running event organised by the Club des Sports de Chamonix, a non-profit association originally founded in 1905. Every year, around 10,000-12,000 runners take part in one of the eight races organized on the trails around Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc massif.
Commenting on the title sponsorship, New Balance adds that its commitment to trail running is deeply rooted in its legacy. Since 1906, the brand has been crafting products designed to meet the diverse needs of runners. In sponsoring the Mont-Blanc Marathon, New Balance is aiming to reinforce this commitment. The goal is to inspire runners of all levels to embrace the challenges of the outdoors in Chamonix, France.
Since the first edition of the race in 1979, the Mont-Blanc Marathon stands as one of the world’s most prestigious trail events. This year, around 12,000 participants from 88 nationalities, including 300 elite athletes, are expected to take part in the eight races for 2025.
Set to be worn by leading New Balance athletes competing in Chamonix, New Balance’s Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 is launching in a brand-new Desert Clay colourway on July 25, 2025.
The Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 is designed with trail athletes in mind, offering a balance of stability, cushioning, and comfort.
