Swiss sportswear brand On has announced the launch of the On Triathlon Academy, which is billed as… ‘a pioneering initiative designed to nurture and empower the next generation of triathlon champions.’
Bringing together On with two other brand partners, this program for young triathletes, is supported by bicycle manufacturer Canyon and wetsuit and swimwear specialist Sailfish. It will provide participants with… ‘access to resources, support, and a pressure-free environment, allowing them to focus on reaching their full potential.’
A release from On added that… ‘Recognizing the challenges faced by young triathletes – including the financial burden of the sport, the pressures of international competition, and the long-term commitment required to reach the top – the On Triathlon Academy aims to remove these barriers and provide a holistic approach to athlete development that encompasses physical training, technical skills, and personal growth.
‘The program will focus on creating a safe and inclusive environment where young athletes can thrive, learn, and pursue their passion for multisport.’

The academy’s brand partnerships will aim to leverage the strengths of each brand to provide young athletes with the tools and support they need.
- On will provide performance footwear, apparel, and access to its athlete support system, such as the On Athlete Compass;
- Canyon will supply athletes with its Aeroad aerod race bikes; and
- Sailfish will offer premium wetsuits and swimwear.

The On Triathlon Academy has introduced its inaugural cohort of four young triathletes as:
- Aspen Anderson (AUS): Winner of the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games
- Jimena De La Peña (USA): Second place at the 2023 Junior World Championships
- Mathis Beaulieu (CAN): Third at the 2023 Junior World Championships
- Canyu Liu (CHN): Winner of the 2024 Asia Triathlon U15 and Youth Championships in Hong Kong

Olivier Bernhard, former professional triathlete and Co-Founder of On, said “As a former professional triathlete, I know first-hand the challenges young athletes face on their journey to the top.
“With the On Triathlon Academy, we’re not just providing gear and funding; we’re creating a supportive community where these athletes can develop their skills and achieve their dreams without unnecessary pressure. This is about investing in the future of triathlon and empowering the next generation of champions.”
Canyon CEO Nicolas de Ros Wallace said “We have a long-standing commitment to helping triathletes achieve remarkable results. By powering On’s Triathlon Academy, we’re building on that legacy to support these four talented young athletes on their journey to representing their countries at the 2028 Olympics.
“At Canyon, our mission is to ‘Inspire to Ride,’ and through this initiative, we hope to spark a deeper passion for triathlon and encourage more people to embrace an active lifestyle.”
Sailfish Founder and CEO Jan Sibbersen said “When On first approached us with the idea of establishing an academy to support young triathletes and provide them with the opportunity to fully dedicate themselves to the sport, we didn’t hesitate for a second.
“Sailfish is incredibly proud to offer four talented athletes the chance to pursue their dreams as part of the On Triathlon Academy, empowering them to unlock their full potential.”
