Rab updates Skyline mountain running collection for 2025

British outdoor brand Rab, owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies, has announced a full refresh of its Skyline mountain running collection for spring/summer 2025.

Designed for varied mountain running environments – from technical descents to exposed ridgelines – the updated range features… ‘ultralight, breathable fabrics engineered for performance, durability and comfort in challenging terrain.’

Shorts
At the core of the SS25 refresh is an overhaul of Rab’s running shorts line-up.

The Talus Light Shorts, the lightest and shortest in the collection, offer a stripped-back, minimalist option for runners focused on weight-saving. Rab has refined the design with an improved elasticated waistband for enhanced fit and comfort during high-output movement.

The Talus 2 in 1 Shorts have been reengineered with a close-fitting, body-hugging silhouette and a secure, adjustable waistband. Designed for stability across uneven terrain, the shorts feature multiple pockets and supportive inner shorts that offer improved stretch and recovery.

Meanwhile, the Talus Tights Shorts have received a fabric and construction upgrade, while retaining the original key design elements. Constructed using double-knit Flexile 200, the revised version offers improved durability and a more supportive, compressive fit.

Veil XP 30 run pack
Rab notes that the Veil XP 30, its new waterproof 30-litre mountain running pack, has received a range of accolades – including the ISPO Award 2024, OIA Awards 2025 Winner (Backpack Category), and OIA Awards 2025 ‘Product of the Year’.

Built for unpredictable mountain conditions, the pack is tested to IPX4 standards with taped seams and a waterproof construction, removing the need for separate dry bags and further cutting weight. A 3D mesh back system wicks moisture, flexes with movement, and supports comfort on long days out, while easy access to gear within the pack is maintained.

Developed for both ultrarunners and fastpackers, the Veil XP 30 is also available in a smaller 20L version.

Phantom Jacket
Also updated for SS25 is Rab’s Phantom Jacket, an ultralight waterproof layer that weighs just 105g (women’s size S) and is constructed using PFAS-free, recycled 7D 2.5-layer Pertex Shield fabric.

Winner of an OIA Award, the jacket has been optimised for ultra-distance racing, mountain marathons, and ‘multi-day missions’.

Key refinements include a ventilated roll-away hood and a full-length front zip, maintaining protection while maximising functionality. Rob adds that the Phantom Jacket packs down into its own hood for easy stowage in a vest or pack. Matching Phantom Pants are also available for men and women.
