Revolt Cycling opens London’s first energy-generating spin studio

Revolt Cycling, billed as London’s first energy-generating spin studio, has opened its doors at the junction of High Holborn and Chancery Lane in the UK capital.

Aiming to initiate a new model for sustainable urban fitness, the studio’s core concept transforms rider effort into clean electricity, allowing participants to convert kinetic energy from their cycling into wattage that helps power the studio’s lights, showers, and operations. Riders are able to view their personal energy output after each session, making their workout a ‘measurable climate action’.

The facility integrates high-performance training with a focus on sustainable design and community purpose, built with eco-conscious materials. The construction features include:

  • FSC-certified eco-timber and upcycled upholstery
  • Temperature-controlled push-press showers
  • Energy-efficient lighting

In addition to the cycling studio, Revolt Cycling is also home to yoga and pilates sessions, infrared saunas, a protein shake bar, and the ‘Revolt Collective’ – a community space designed for workshops and partnerships with sustainable brands.

Founder Celeste Blakey said “Revolt was born to create wellness with consequences for anyone who believes that small actions can create meaningful impact.

“Here, you don’t just sweat for yourself. Every pedal stroke, every drop of energy is a contribution to something greater. This is more than a workout.”

The studio operates a six-day-a-week schedule with over 26 classes. Pricing is structured to offer flexible options:

  • Single sessions start from £20.
  • 3-class packs are available from £45.

Founder memberships (12 months unlimited use plus monthly guest passes) are available at £150 per month.

Revolt Cycling has also partnered with the charity 4ocean, committing to pull one plastic bottle from the ocean for every class booked. The facility frames its brand as a ‘movement towards cleaner, community-driven energy’ under the mantra ‘sustainability without sacrifice’.
