Santorini Experience in Greece celebrates its 10th anniversary from October 10-12, 2025, offering open water swimming and running events in one of the world’s most scenic locations.
The 2.4 km open water swim on the Greek Aegean island, held only once a year, starts from the island’s volcano and finishes at the Old Port of Fira. Safety support includes the Santorini Boatmen Association, Caldera Yachting, Santorini Nautical Club, Lifeguard Patrol, and more.
Elite athletes taking part include Tokyo 2020 Paralympian Efthymia Gouli (supported by Vikos Natural Mineral Water), Japanese Olympian Yasu Hirai Fukuoka, and four-time Olympian Nora Drakou. Swim coach Nikos Gemelos serves as Technical Director.
Running events include the 5km ‘Aristides Alafouzos’ (powered by appliance firm Miele), the 10km (powered by car hire firm SIXT), and a 15km option, all starting and finishing in Oia a coastal town in northwestern tip of Santorini.
