Building on its inaugural races earlier this year, the Women’s Run Series will return to London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with two events on August 21 and October 11, 2025.
The first edition of the 5K and 10K event series was held on International Women’s Day in London, followed by a second outing in April at Heaton Park, Manchester. Both events drew thousands of participants and aimed to create safe, inclusive spaces for women of all backgrounds to enjoy running.
Organised by RunThrough, the Women’s Run Series is focused on encouraging participation from first-time and returning female runners. Results are listed alphabetically rather than by finish time, in an effort to reduce competition and foster community.
Lucy Wood, Race Director at Women’s Run Series, said “We’re incredibly excited to announce not just one, but two Women’s Run Series events at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
“These events mark a major step forward in our mission to empower more women through running. Together, we’re building inclusive, inspiring race-day experiences where women of all backgrounds feel seen, supported and celebrated.”
The series has partnered again with StoneX, which returns as title sponsor of the August race. The financial services firm backs the event through its ‘Women in StoneX’ programme, focusing on community and inclusion.
This year, the Women’s Run Series is also supporting Breast Cancer Now as its official charity partner, aiming to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and support.
The events aim to tackle ongoing barriers to female participation in sport, particularly for ethnic minorities. Through partnerships with community organisations, the organisers hope to foster a healthier and more connected society, with both physical and mental well-being at the core of the initiative.
