Giro Sport Design, the specialist in performance cycling and snow sports equipment, has confirmed the launch of the Eclipse Pro. The accessories specialist notes that this next generation aero road helmet is engineered for elite racing and high-speed endurance riding, following extensive development in the company’s in-house laboratory in Irvine, CA.
The helmet was developed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and wind-tunnel validation. According to the company, the new silhouette is its fastest aero road helmet to date, designed to optimise airflow while maintaining the ventilation required for long endurance efforts and high-intensity training.
The Eclipse Pro has already been utilised at the professional level during the 2025 season. Notable results include Pauline Ferrand-Prévot’s General Classification win at the 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. Other high-profile successes include Wout Van Aert’s stage win in Montmartre and Jonas Vingegaard’s General Classification victory at the 2025 La Vuelta a España.
The helmet was also used by Team Visma | Lease a Bike to win the Team Classification at the 2025 Tour de France. In off-road disciplines, Alessandra Keller and Kate Courtney both wore the helmet to secure XCM World Champion titles at the 2025 UCI World Championships in Valais, Switzerland. Courtney also set a new women’s course record at the 2025 Leadville Trail 100 in Colorado.
Giro has focused on thermal regulation through a new internal channeling architecture. This system is designed to guide air through deep intake ports and across the scalp to manage heat during steep climbs and sustained high-output efforts.
For safety, the helmet integrates Spherical technology powered by Mips. This system provides rotational impact protection, featuring a reinforced polycarbonate shell that extends around the EPS liner for increased coverage.
The fit is managed by the Roc Loc 5.5 Air system, which offers micro-adjustable stability. In a size medium, the helmet weighs 280g.
The Eclipse Pro was developed through collaboration between Giro designers Ash Lewin and Garrett Tollette alongside input from professional athletes. Following an initial reveal on December 19, 2025, the official consumer launch is scheduled for February 15, 2026.
The helmet is available in three sizes, ranging from 51cm to 63cm, and eight different colourways:
- Matte Black
- Matte White
- Matte Flame Red
- Matte Dark Maroon
- Matte Sky Blue
- Matte Dark Sage
- Matte Stone
- Matte Black / Frequency Orange
