New York Road Runners reopens expanded RUNCENTER featuring New Balance Run Hub in Manhattan

New York Road Runners - 2026 RUNCenter Re-Opening

New York Road Runners (NYRR) has reopened the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 W. 57th St. in Midtown Manhattan, NY, following a seven-month renovation.

The expansion marks the first major redesign of the facility since it originally opened in 2017. Serving as a community hub for local runners and visitors, the updated space includes nearly 2,000 square feet of additional floor area to support expanded event programming and visitor amenities.

Rob Simmelkjaer, Chief Executive Officer of New York Road Runners, said “As the non-profit that ‘runs’ New York City, we want the RUNCENTER to be a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you’re a new runner seeking guidance, a seasoned New York Road Runners member picking up your bib for a weekly race, or a visitor looking to connect with the New York City running community.

“This expanded and redesigned space reflects our vision to build healthier lives and stronger communities through the transformative power of running, with a centrally located, accessible destination for all runners to discover the physical, mental, and social benefits of movement.”

Joe Preston, President and Chief Executive Officer of New Balance, added “Our partnership with New York Road Runners has always been rooted in a shared belief that running has the power to bring people together and create positive change. We’re proud to celebrate the reopening of the expanded NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub, a welcoming space where runners of all backgrounds can connect, learn, and find inspiration for their next mile.”

Non-profit organisation NYRR produces 60 annual adult and youth races across the five boroughs, including the TCS New York City Marathon. Since 2017, the RUNCENTER has welcomed over 1 million visitors for race bib collection, retail, group runs and community events.

Facilities and operational updates at the renovated venue include:

  • Increased storage capacity: Public locker availability has been expanded by 35% to 105 units, alongside four changing rooms and three bathrooms.
  • New Balance Run Hub: Reopened in July 2026 in an adjacent, connected space at 322 W. 57th St., featuring expanded footwear and apparel inventory, online order pickup, and 3D foot scanning technology.
  • Expanded programming loft: Located on the mezzanine level, offering double the previous programming space with capacity for up to 150 seated guests.
  • Community steps: Bleacher-style seating accommodating up to 42 people for pre-run gatherings and presentations.
  • Hydration and sustainability: Installation of a Culligan water refill station and used-sneaker collection bins for the Sneaker Impact recycling program. Rubber upcycled from donated running shoes was also used in the entry wall construction.
  • Partner programming: Event schedules will feature yoga and strength sessions led by Peloton instructors, live recordings of the NYRR Set the Pace Presented by Peloton podcast, and injury prevention sessions hosted by the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The redesign was led by architecture firm Method Design, with Nucor serving as construction manager and YARD NYC managing brand integration.

The RUNCENTER is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 20:00 ET, and Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00. The New Balance Run Hub operates Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00.
