Dublin Marathon Group and its charity engagement partner, Realbuzz, have launched the Realbuzz Shakeout Run, an official event taking place on the Irish Life Dublin Marathon weekend.
The limited-capacity 5km run is scheduled for 09:00 on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Phoenix Park, Dublin, the day before the 45th running of the Dublin Marathon.
The event has been created to celebrate participants who secured their 2026 marathon places through the Realbuzz official charity programme. Shakeout Run entry is priced at €20 per runner, with participants permitted to register one friend, family member or supporter to join them. All runners will receive a goody bag following the 5km run.
To mark the 45th edition of the marathon, Dublin Marathon Group is offering 45 additional places to the wider 2026 marathon field via a social media competition closing on September 20, 2026.

As this is a limited-capacity event, we’re also delighted to mark our 45th marathon by giving the wider field the opportunity to win 45 additional places and be part of the experience.”

Registration for Realbuzz charity runners closes on September 23, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are required to collect their event bibs at the Irish Life Dublin Marathon Expo on Friday, October 23, 2026, between 12:00 and 19:00. The fundraising campaign for the 2026 marathon has raised over €2.5 million to date via Official Fundraising Partner Eventmaster.
The 45th Irish Life Dublin Marathon takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, featuring a total field capacity of 22,500 runners.
