Cycle Show 2010: from Olympic stars to handle bars!

Cycle Show 2010, the largest bike show in the UK, will return for the 9th year on 7-10 October at Earl’s Court, London, bringing with it an even bigger and better four day cycling experience.

With a record 24,000 visitors, last year’s show was an event to celebrate and proved it had the pull to attract and wow new audiences – despite the economic slow down.

This year the Cycle Show is gearing up to create the ultimate one-stop experience, which the UK has never previously seen.

Not only perfectly suited to those bike mad enthusiasts but also ideal for those who have never ridden a bike before – or those just looking for a fun day out with family and friends. The 2010 Cycle Show will deliver something for all tastes, styles, abilities and budgets.

From toddler trikes to premium bikes, here’s a peak at what’s install:

Indoor triathlon sponsored by Johnson Health Tech UK – new for 2010, the Cycle Show 2010 Triathlon will include rowing, cycling and running – and will be open to all show visitors.

The Tirol Mountain Bike Experience – stop dreaming about those shiny premium bikes, here’s your chance to jump on and actually try them out. From the standard models right through to the elite, this puts new meaning to try before you buy.

Commuter test track – thinking about cycling to work, needing an upgrade or want some expert advice, check out and actually test the latest commuter (cycle) models that best suit all your personal needs.

Arena and Street Course – don’t miss your front row seat to see the jaw dropping BMX stars in all their glory as they perform tricks which just shouldn’t be humanly possible.

Experts – a variety of experts will be on-hand for a series of talks and seminars designed to cater and assist any grade of cyclists – all questions answered from the latest bike innovations to the best British tracks and cycling holidays.

The Wizzbike – new for 2010 this is a specially designed area for disabled cyclists to experience first hand the latest kit and bike models, from new styles to the latest accessories, everything will be on hand to touch and test.

The Cycle Store – make sure you look the part, be the first to check out and purchase all the latest trends and styles in cycling fashion, technical kit and accessories for 2011 – you need to the look part when your cruising around or pounding the pedals.

Kids Craft Zone – also new for 2010 is the Kids Craft Zone, be creative, colourful and messy with the kids by designing your bike of the future or customise your bike helmet with stickers, acrylic paints and stencils.

Celebrities – get up close and personal with Olympic and elite racing idols as they hold intimate question and answer sessions – covering everything from racing technique and training tips to what it’s like to be a British Olympian and top level performance cyclist.

Secure bike parking – save the pennies for the show and ride to Earls Court, and then lock up your bike in the free secure bike park for the day.

With an abundance of interactive, visual and informative features, and hundreds of leading and boutique brands, this will be a collaboration of the very best of the global cycling world.

The Show opens for trade and press on Thursday 7 and then is open to the general public from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October from 10am to 6pm daily (Sunday 5pm) – to bring your family, friends or cycling group along and make a day of it.
