As Interbike hosted its last Outdoor Demo in Nevada, before the show moves to southern California, almost 120 exhibitors set up shop at the product demo, which ran on Monday and Tuesday. Few will miss the scorching heat and dust at Bootleg Canyon in the Nevada desert. Although, the terrain offers spectacular test rides of next year’s bike models.
Andy Tompkins, Show Director at Interbike said that the 2011 Demo Day site would probably be at Irvine Regional Park.
“What Irvine Regional Park will offer us is expanded singletrack mountain biking and definitely expanded road loops,” Tompkins said. The park itself is 12 miles from the Anaheim Convention Center – the 2011 Interbike venue.
With few bike customers actually riding in the desert on a day to day basis, according to some retail buyers and manufacturers at the show, Irvine Regional Park is more likely to be representative of the terrain that people are actually riding.
