Giant Manufacturing Co Chairman and company founder King Liu has completed an 80K bike journey, along the Shimanami Kaido, an expressway in Japan connected by bridges across six islands. The journey, which finished at the southern Japanese island of Shikoku, was undertaken to help promote cycle tourism in the region.
Liu and over 40 cyclists from Taiwan were welcomed by several governors of neighbouring prefectures.
Giant opened a 260sq m store in Ehime Prefecture, located on the island of Shikoku, on 20 April. The store sells bicycles and components. It also provides bike rental and changing facilities for cyclists.
