Jasmine Flatters appointed to the London 2012 Games

Jasmine Flatters, ex Chair of British Triathlon has been appointed as Triathlon Services Manager at the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games 2012 (LOCOG).

Flatters will be working closely with the Triathlon Competition Manager John Lunt, building on the detailed work already done, providing technical input into the planning and supporting major work streams for both the 2011 test event and the main Olympic competition in August 2012.

Lunt said, "I’m thrilled that Jasmine has joined the superb sports team here at LOCOG and I know she will play a vital role in delivering a fantastic Olympic triathlon.”

Triathlon has a unique set of technical requirements and it’s vitally important that each member of staff has the experience of staging international events.

Sarah Springman, President of British Triathlon, said "British Triathlon is delighted with Jasmine’s appointment, her experience and skill set is ideally suited, particularly from her innovative management of British Age Group Teams and her extensive technical experience, latterly as Chair of the British Triathlon’s Technical Committee and her role within the ITU Technical Committee.”

Zara Hyde Peters, CEO British Triathlon added, “This appointment confirms the high value that LOCOG is placing on the National Governing Bodies’ most experienced volunteers and is recognition of the skills and competence that Jasmine has developed over twenty years of working unstintingly at all levels.

“It will also leave a tremendous legacy to the sport after the Games have been delivered.”

Flatters said “This has to be the pinnacle of my career. I am truly honoured to have been appointed to this role and I can’t wait to get started and make my contribution to a memorable Olympic Games in London.”
