Kestrel signs up Big Sexy McDonald!

Kestrel Bicycles has announced its sponsorship of professional triathlete Chris ‘Big Sexy’ McDonald, a three-time Ironman Champion.

With an unprecedented 30 top-ten finishes in Ironman events since he began his professional racing career in 2004, McDonald is a welcome addition to the Kestrel brand and more specifically to the Kestrel-sponsored Team Trakkers.

"Chris will undoubtedly be a tremendous asset to Team Trakkers in 2011, and I’m happy that Kestrel can provide him with one of the best bicycles the brand has ever produced: the Kestrel 4000,” said Kestrel Brand Manager Steve Harad.

Michael Lovato, a two-time Ironman champion and member of Team Trakkers, is thrilled about his new teammate.

"Chris stands out as one of the more unique individuals in the sport of triathlon. He has the ability to deliver big time – both on and off the course,” Lovato explained, citing McDonald’s strong fan following.

McDonald will be joining Team Trakkers at several Rev3 events throughout the year as both an athlete and a commentator.
