BodyPower adds Endurance City to 2013 show

Traditionally home to the world of bodybuilding and mixed martial arts (MMA), BodyPower – the ‘largest indoor consumer fitness expo in Europe’ – has added ‘Endurance City’ and expanded its remit to endurance sport for 2013.

Taking place on 17-19 May 2013, BodyPower has partnered on Endurance City with leading UK triathlon mag 220 Triathlon. This new endurance focused area of the show is building on the BodyPower strength and fitness challenges that have proved popular with show visitors in recent years.

New for 2013, Endurance City competitions will include an indoor triathlon, complete with an Endless Pool; a WATT Bike power output challenge; and a concept two rowing championship.

Catering for all levels of triathletes, cyclists, runners and rowers, the Endurance City area will also present a range of specific performance based workshops on training, nutrition and recovery. Additional highlights also include specific endurance seminars and performance analysis including VO2 and power output testing. This year also sees the inclusion of Go Commando Extreme, an outdoor endurance assault course set up and run by former Royal Marines.

As the BodyPower organisers point out, ‘Endurance City will play a major role in expanding the expo; and with a strong synergy of companies at the expo already, a dedicated feature show makes sense.’

With around 40,000 visitors expected next year, BodyPower is billed by the organisers as the largest indoor consumer fitness expo in Europe. 31,000 visitors attended the show in 2012, up from 23,000 in 2011. Of those who visited this year, 96% stated that they would attend again in 2013.

Over 70 exhibitors are already reported to be signed up to BodyPower 2013. The expo will ‘welcome back many recognised brands as well as a horde of exciting new companies.’ With the likes of USN, Bodybuilding.com, Gaspari and Grenade all appearing across the May weekend, the organisers note that there will be something of interest for all fitness enthusiasts.

The organisers also point out that the range of interests, abilities and goals of BodyPower’s visitors have grown significantly year on year. As a result, BodyPower will bring a larger selection of exhibitors ranging from endurance sport, through to healthy eating, to education and nutrition, all designed to help visitors achieve their health, fitness and lifestyle goals.
