The European Triathlon Union (ETU) and Powerman have agreed that the prize fund for the European Duathlon Championships, on 20-21 April, is €10,000.
Registration for this event is now open and can be made at powerman.nl until 7 March 2013. Entries after this date will go into the open race. National Federations must confirm who will race at the European Championships 30 days before the event.
It is mandatory for all athletes racing in the European Championships to race in their country’s national uniform.
Coolin’ in Cali
In January, the European Triathlon Union (ETU) and International Powerman Association (IPA) extended their cooperation by allocating the qualification event for the World Games in Cali to the ETU Powerman European Championships in Horst an de Maas, Holland.
Alongside the Long Distance Qualification event for Elite and U23 duathletes, there will also be a European Junior Championship for junior athletes at the Sprint Distance. Age Group athletes can choose between European Championships at both distances.
All qualifying events will take place in Holland on Sunday 21 April 2013. The 2013 World Games will take place in the city of Cali, Colombia, from 25 July to 4 August.
Going Long
Powerman is offering athletes of all ages and abilities – Elite, U23, Junior and Age Groupers – the opportunity to compete in the European Duathlon Long Distance & Sprint Distance Championships in Horst De Mas.
This is seen as the perfect opportunity to start 2013 in style with a large and exciting event, which will kick off another season of quality duathlon and triathlon racing.
