Ethos – the company behind the Ethos Endurance Festival in California – has acquired the Boston Triathlon and the Lobsterman Triathlon. With its strong focus on athlete experience, Ethos notes that it will bring ‘fresh resources that will raise the bar for these popular events.’
Ethos has joined Tri-Maine Productions to partner on these two triathlons in New England. Tri-Maine will continue to serve as the Race Director of the Lobsterman Triathlon and will work with Streamline Events to produce the Boston Triathlon.
Ethos and Tri-Maine are implementing improvements that will benefit the athletes, sponsors, volunteers and hosting communities. According to the companies, participants will notice enhancements right away, including an enhanced racer experience, turnkey online registration, and exciting new sponsors.
At the events, ‘athletes will be provided with a safe and exciting racing experience at two spectacular race venues, with meticulous attention to detail.’
Michael O’Neil, founder and president of Ethos said, “We have set the bar high for ourselves to produce the most entertaining and well-run events. With Will and his Tri-Maine team as partners, I’m confident that our events will rank high on every athlete’s list.”
“We are thrilled to be working with the Ethos team, to be able to take advantage of their expertise and passion for producing world-class events,” said Will Thomas, founder and President of Tri-Maine. “This is a win-win combination for all our athletes who have so loyally supported us for over a decade.”
The Boston Triathlon kicks off on 4 August 2013, with the Boston skyline providing a perfect backdrop and the scenic South Boston shoreline offering racers a premier metro-triathlon experience. This sprint triathlon offers easy access and parking, closed roads, and a festive post-race atmosphere.
Mirroring the strong national demand for urban triathlons in the US, the Boston race doubled in size from 2011 to 2012. This year, the event will expand further and is expected to sell out capacity faster than ever.
On 14 September 2013, the Lobsterman Triathlon should once again draw a sell-out crowd for this r ‘Olympic-distance Triathlon & Lobster Bake’, creating a full day endurance festival that appeals to all types of athletes and their families.
Men’s Health, Triathlete Magazine, Inside Triathlon, Competitor Magazine, and Fodor’s Travel have all recognized the Lobsterman Triathlon as one of the top races in the USA. A true destination race, it draws athletes and spectators alike from 25 US states.
