Based in Seattle, Washington, TN Multisports has been confirmed as the official coaching partner for the new and returning Ironman Canada event.
Marking the 31st outing for a full distance Ironman branded event in Canada, IM Canada is scheduled for Sunday 25 August 2013. The move to a new event destination in Whistler was confirmed by Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corp (WTC) last October. This followed the cancellation of Ironman Canada in Penticton after long distance tri rival Challenge Family expanded into North America with the launch of Challenge Penticton in Canada.
“Whistler is recognized worldwide as a sought-after travel and outdoor recreation destination,” said Steve Meckfessel, Managing Director of Global Race Operations for WTC, during the unveiling of Whistler as the Ironman Canada destination.
He added, “As the new host community of Ironman Canada, Whistler will immediately earn a reputation as a triathlon destination. With its accessibility to major west coast markets, stunning beauty and tourism infrastructure, Whistler will resonate with our athletes, their families and fans of Ironman.”

TN Multisports was established by Teresa Nelson. Commenting on the new partnership with the newly invigorated Ironman Canada event, she said, “TNM sees incredible value in working alongside the WTC, the most reputable organization in triathlon, building an even stronger foundation for both companies to build upon.
“This partnership allows both companies to provide additional value in helping athletes achieve their dreams.”
