Dream Team Television is continuing its push of triathlon programming with two events televised on mainstream UK TV with Channel 4 this coming weekend.
Anglesey Sandman Triathlon
Channel 4, Saturday 7 December at 06.30 GMT and Sunday 15 December 07.30
The second of three events in the Always Aim High series, and one of the toughest triathlons on the UK calendar, this multi-terrain event took place on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, with 750 athletes taking on a course that included a sea swim and a run on the dunes and rocky beaches of Newborough Forest.
Snowman Triathlon
Channel 4, Sunday 8 December 07.30
Also taking place in North Wales, this winter triathlon is not for the faint-hearted; after a bracing swim in the lake at Plas y Brenin, and a 69K bike ride that takes in several mountain passes, the race is the only UK triathlon that ends with a mountain run as the competitors take on the steep slopes of Moel Siabod.
The organisers claim this event starts and finishes at a location which has ‘the most beautiful view in the world’. It is the last triathlon in the Always Aim High series, which also includes the Slateman and Sandman events.
Keeping up the multisport theme, the Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest, powered by Volkswagen Amarok will be on Channel 4 on Saturday 14 December at 07.30.
