Aqua Sphere UK sales are buoyant… up 21% year on year

Swim and tri brand Aqua Sphere is reporting an impressive 21% year-on-year increase in UK turnover for 2013. Delivering key values of performance and long lasting comfort, Aqua Sphere is positioning itself as ‘the premium goggle choice for a large number of retailers.’

According to the company, its commitment to innovation and product quality is emulated across other product categories, not least swimwear, which enjoys significant attention from influential fashion media. Resolved to push the boundaries of technology, Aqua Sphere is launching a fast drying AquaLight swimwear range in 2014 – the first swimwear collection to bring sophisticated nanotechnology to the everyday fitness swimwear category.

It is also promoting a new version of the highly successful Kaiman goggle, which has sold over 8 million units worldwide to date.

“Our team has a deep rooted affinity with the water and we are determined to develop products which can enhance the swimmer’s experience on every level,” said Martin Newton of Aqua Sphere UK. “We strive to develop and incorporate the very best advanced design and materials technologies so that the everyday swimmer as well as the elite triathlete can enjoy ground-breaking innovation.”

He continued, “In addition, we work hard to ensure our retail partners are well guided and supported, and this year we launched a Shopatron e-commerce solution, which ensures that our retailers are given the opportunity to gain all the revenue from online sales via our website. This is working well and retailers have responded to the fact that we have kept to our promise not to sell directly to the public. We are a trusted operator for both product integrity and sales execution – and we guard that trust vehemently.”

The retailer perspective on Aqua Sphere has been put forward by Simon Millet, MD & Founder of online multisport retailer ActivInstinct. He said “Aqua Sphere has increased its recognition significantly this year through its sponsorship and the popularity of open water swimming. ActivInstinct has seen a significant uplift in sales in 2013, particularly around the innovative K180+, Kayenne and Vista goggles.”

Aqua Sphere is the official swim kit partner to mass participation challenges including Great Swim and is a regular supporter of the RNLI charity and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Headley Court for injured members of the British Armed Forces.

The brand’s comprehensive product range includes swimwear, goggles, tri wetsuits, bags, caps and performance training and aquatic exercise kits. It is part of the global Aqua Lung International Group, which includes brands such as Aqua Lung, the name that first introduced the world to scuba diving, and Apeks, one of the world’s premium providers of diving regulators.
