The Iceman Cometh!

On 25 January 2014, Human Race will kick off its 2014 UK race calendar with IceMan 2014 taking place at the Army Training Grounds in Frimley, Surrey. IceMan will be returning to the venue for a fifth year.

Rainbow Trust, the official charity for the Off-Road Series will be on hand to cheer the runners and duathletes along. The trail runs and duathlon at IceMan are notoriously hilly, muddy and demanding – providing entrants with a perfect opportunity to gauge their fitness as they take aim at their New Year goals.

Competitors will be able to choose from an 11K run, a 16K run, or a gruelling duathlon (10K run, 18K bike, 5K run), which also includes a relay option. As with all the events in the Human Race Off-road Series, runners are allowed to enter with their dogs. Hopefully these furry friends will help drag their owners up-and-down the Surrey hills!

All of these different options provide entrants with a chance to help start the New Year strongly.

If the thought of starting 2014 with a fantastic fitness target isn’t enough to encourage athletes to sign up, Human Race is also offering free entry into the Whole Foods Market Kingston Breakfast Run (Sunday 23 March 2014) to anyone who enters all four events in the Human Race Off-Road Series.

So far, two out of the four events have taken place (WildMan and MudMan) – and therefore anybody who has completed the first two events in the series is already halfway to a completely free event entry.

Human Race will also be giving away an exclusive, Off-Road Series cotton t-shirt after each event. This means that competitors will have the chance to collect the full set of four throughout the series. The t-shirts are positioned as a great memento to commemorate the challenges of the off-road events.
