After 10 years at the Marunuma mountain resort in Japan’s Gunma Prefecture, the XTERRA Japan Championship race will be put on-hold in 2014.
“We are deeply sorry to our loyal XTERRA Japan family of racers and also to the many foreigners and iconic professionals that race with us in Marunuma every year,” said organizer Taro Shirato. “We will be back in 2015.”
Japanese triathletes looking to qualify for the 2014 XTERRA World Championship in Mau are encouraged to attend any one of the several XTERRA races on the Asia-Pacific Tour; and Japanese nationals who raced at XTERRA Japan last year are being offered complimentary entry into the inaugural XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship race to be held on 26 April in Australia.

The inaugural XTERA Asia-Pacific Championship is scheduled for 27 April 2014 at Callala Bay, a small town on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on the north shore of Jervis Bay, roughly 2 to 2-1/2 hours’ drive from Sydney or Canberra.
