The Jenson Button Trust has announced full details of its 2014 triathlon, which will take place on Saturday 12 July. Held in the private estate grounds of the fabulous Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire, the 2014 event will be held in support of Cancer Research UK following a new partnership with the charity.
Now in its third year, the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon is a truly unique event. It combines competition with a relaxed festival atmosphere; it has a true family feel with a buzzing event village, post-race party with prizes presented by Jenson, live music and a barbeque.
The 2014 event will give competitors the chance to race twice, with the preliminary heat consisting of a 300m lake swim, 9K bike ride and 2.5K run. The top performers will then go on to the final (750m swim, 15K bike ride, 5K run) and the runners up will enter the ‘wooden spoon’ race.
The Trust is also proud to unveil its all-new charity partnership with Cancer Research UK. Commenting on the partnership Jenson Button said, “Having Cancer Research UK as our new charity partner is fantastic, it will ensure that the 2014 Triathlon is the biggest and best yet.
“The research work carried out by Cancer Research UK into the prevention and treatment of cancer is of such importance. I am very proud that the Jenson Button Trust will do its bit to raise as much money and awareness as possible.”
