USA Pro Challenge official commemorative poster contest

The 2014 USA Pro Challenge will again host a nationwide US contest inviting artists to create a national event poster for the fourth annual race that will be seen throughout the world. All types of artists – professional, amateur, aspiring – are encouraged to let their creativity flow and submit their designs via the USA Pro Challenge Facebook page beginning on Friday 21 March.

Entries will be accepted until Friday 18 April; fans can then vote on their favourite poster through to 2 May, with the winners being announced on Monday 5 May.

Artists will have plenty to draw upon as the 2014 Pro Challenge route guides the world’s elite cyclists through some of the most beautiful settings in the country.

“We’re looking for something that captures the picturesque scenery of Colorado, in addition to the spirit of the intense competition of the USA Pro Challenge,” said Shawn Hunter, CEO of the USA Pro Challenge.

“We have seen some incredible artwork submissions through the poster contest in previous years and we expect the creativity level to be sky-high this year. This tradition gives fans another opportunity to become a part of the largest professional cycling race in the US.”

Once entries are submitted, the race’s thousands of loyal Facebook fans will have a chance to cast their votes for the ten best national posters. From there, the USA Pro Challenge team will select the winner. The winner will receive four passes to the VIP hospitality tent in the city of their choice, in addition to having his/her poster produced and sold to fans both online and onsite during the race on 18-24 August.

All entries must be submitted via the USA Pro Challenge Facebook contest page (only online entries will be eligible). This requires either that the artwork be in digital media format or that a digital photograph of the artwork be posted in accordance with the rules, terms and conditions adopted by Facebook.

Each file must be in JPEG format and otherwise comply with Facebook’s requirements for posting. Multiple entries may be submitted, but must be submitted at the same time.

This is a skill-based contest and chance plays no part in the determination of winners. There is no fee to enter and no purchase is required. Official rules for the program can be found at www.facebook.com/USAProCyclingChallenge.

Referred to as ‘America’s Race’, the USA Pro Challenge will take place on 18-24 August 2014. For seven consecutive days, the world’s top athletes race through the majestic Colorado Rockies, ‘reaching higher altitudes than they’ve ever had to endure.’ One of the largest cycling events in US history and the largest spectator event in the history of the state of Colorado, the USA Pro Challenge features a challenging course, will spotlight the best of the best in professional cycling and some of America’s most beautiful scenery.
