Event registration specialist ACTIVE Network has appointment Sam Renouf as the new General Manager of ACTIVE’s Sports & Consumer business, managing strategy, industry relationships, product, sales, account management and marketing.
Previously, Sam was vice president of the company’s emerging markets in Asia Pacific, where he helped establish ACTIVE’s international expansion and drove the growth of the global endurance and sports operation. Prior to joining ACTIVE, Sam was an elite triathlete; he also served as a commentator for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Sam will continue to grow ACTIVE’s Sports and Consumer business both domestically and internationally. In recent years, ACTIVE has been the global technology partner to Ironman powering registrations in more than 10 different languages and currencies.
The Electric Run has also worked with ACTIVE to launch its expansion into a number of international markets with events confirmed in major cities such as London, Sydney, Singapore, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Dublin. Meanwhile, ACTIVE has partnered with Triathlon Business International (TBI), the industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon with ACTIVE Network on board as TBI’s conference sponsor in 2014.
“We have been fortunate to work with Sam on international projects for Pacific Sports; and he has played a key role on assisting Triathlon Business International’s expansion and recognition throughout the world,” said Jack Caress, President & CEO, Pacific Sports and President, Triathlon Business International.
“Many of the trends in the endurance space have been developed outside of the US and being involved in the growth and development of ACTIVE’s business internationally is critical in this position. Sam’s breadth of experience makes him a great choice as ACTIVE’s new GM.”
