Bike Bus Boxed ‘powered by LOVESPACE’

Race Force, the UK bike transport and hire specialist, has partnered with LOVESPACE the ‘storage company with a difference’ that collects, stores and delivers bikes, boxes and more. Together, Race Force and LOVESPACE have launched a joint ‘Bike Bus Boxed’ service, which provides an integrated collection, storage and transport solution for bikes – for only £115.

The Bike Bus Boxed service, ‘powered by LOVESPACE, will collect a triathlete’s or road cyclist’s boxed bike from any UK address. The bike is then stored until the Race Force Bike Bus transports it directly to a chosen event.

Race Force is currently shipping bikes to the following events across Europe:

  • Ironman 70.3 Mallorca (10 May 2014)
  • Ironman Austria (29 June)
  • Ironman France – Nice (29 June)
  • Gran Fondo Marmotte (5 July)
  • DATEV Challenge Roth (20 July)
  • L’Etape du Tour (20 July)
  • Ironman Zurich Switzerland (27 July)
  • Ironman Kalmar Sweden (16 August)
  • Ironman 70.3 Zell am See Kaprun Salzburg (31 August)
  • Ironman Mallorca (27 September)
  • Challenge Barcelona-Maresme, now acquired by WTC/Ironman (5 October)
  • Challenge Paguera-Mallorca (18 October)

Priced at £115, the Bike Bus Boxed service procedure is as follows:

  1. An athlete visits the Race Force website to book the Bike Bus Boxed service
  2. The bike is boxed up and collection with LOVESPACE is scheduled on its website
  3. LOVESPACE collects the bike and stores it in a secure, CCTV monitored warehouse
  4. Race Force then collects the bike from LOVESPACE and takes it to the event in its Bike Bus
  5. The athlete flies out from the UK to the event and Race Force meets them there with their bike
  6. After the race, the bike is left with Race Force to be taken back to the LOVESPACE warehouse
  7. When the athlete returns home to the UK they can schedule delivery of their bike on the LOVESPACE website
  8. If notification is received before 15:00 GMT, LOVESPACE can deliver it to ‘any UK address the very next day’

Athletes can leave their bike with LOVESPACE for 1 month (from the date of collection) at no additional charge. For those who would like to store their bike for longer – perhaps until next season – this can be arranged with LOVESPACE ‘for just a few £s per month’.

The Bike Bus Boxed service means that athletes can turn up at the airport without ‘heavy & oversized luggage and expensive taxi charges’. For those who don’t have a bike box, one can be hired from LOVESPACE when creating an account for just £8.29 including delivery.

As a release from Race Force and LOVESPACE notes, ‘Race Force will not only deliver your two wheeled wonder to the start line allowing you to relax and get ready for the big race, but their packages also include group swims, runs and rides ensuring you’re really in the zone and surrounded by the people who know your sport best.’
