DATEV Challenge Roth 2014 hits the airwaves

DATEV Challenge Roth is hitting TV screens across Germany and parts of Europe starting on Friday 25 July, via the German channel SPORT1. The 2014 DATEV Challenge Roth event took place on Sunday 20 July and celebrated 30 years of triathlon in Roth with a field of 5,500 athletes from over 60 nations, including ‘the strongest pro field ever seen on the fast Bavarian course.’

On Friday 25 July 2014, highlights of DATEV Challenge Roth 2014 will be screened from 16.00 to 17.00 CET on SPORT1. The highlight show will be repeated via SPORT1 on 2 September at 13:00 to 14:00, and on 5 December at 15:00 to 16:00.

Supported by over 220,000 spectators, the organisers note that Challenge Roth is ‘the greatest triathlon on earth’. The competition starts with a 3.8K swim in the Main-Donau-Canal, followed by a 180K bike and a final marathon of 42K.

DATEV Challenge Roth is also ‘a great family festival with a huge surrounding programme’, such as the Triathlon Expo at the Roth Triathlon Park and the Finish-Line Party at night.

The DATEV Challenge Roth event began at 06.30 CET on 20 July, with the swim start at the Hilpoltstein landing stage, and had its grand finale at the Roth Triathlon Stadium with a big fireworks display.
