Dream Team TV has two triathlon programmes going out on UK terrestrial TV Channel 4 this weekend. This continues the TV production company’s on-going push of endurance sport programming and its long-standing partnership with Channel 4.
Tri Liverpool
On Saturday 23 August, 07:00 GMT, the Tri Liverpool TV highlights show will be presented by Rob Walker and Annie Emmerson.
Thousands of triathletes, including some of the world’s best, took part in Tri Liverpool – the 2014 British Triathlon Championships – on Sunday 10 August. The event, which was organised by Lagardère Unlimited Events and British Triathlon in partnership with Liverpool City Council, was based at the Echo Arena.
With some challenging weather conditions on the Sunday, competitors swam in the Queens and Wapping Docks, cycled past the Liver Buildings and ran across the waterfront before crossing the finish line outside the Echo Arena to collect their hard-earned medal.
The Outlaw
On Sunday 24 August, 07:05 GMT, the Outlaw highlights show will be presented by Kevin Harris and Charlie Webster.
Organised by One Step Beyond, Nottingham is the venue for this popular long distance triathlon, which took place in late July. Over 1000 athletes added to the city’s famous sporting heritage as they attempted to finish the course within 17 hours and earn the title of ‘Outlaws’.
With a 2.4 mile swim at the National Watersports Centre, a 112 mile bike in the Nottinghamshire countryside and finishing off with a 26.2 mile run the Outlaw is amongst the UK’s toughest one day endurance events and sells out rapidly each year.
