Velo’s ‘Weightless Open Wing’ (WOW) saddle system aims to open up a new dimension for the road racing sector. The design made from pure carbon provides long distance and endurance riders with ‘unique comfort in the saddle, with a lightweight, anatomical structure.’
Hitting the market in 2015, the latest technology from Velo utilizes the ‘strength and lightness of carbon for optimum power transmission’, which is supported by Velo’s patented ArcTech suspension.
By using the latest UD carbon for its flexibility, Velo notes that this creates a cutaway saddle presented in a dynamic form. In turn, this provides optimized performance and improved ride comfort. ‘With this cutaway design there is less pressure on sensitive areas.’
At only 98g, the Senso Miles VL 1638 is currently considered the lightest Velo saddle. The Senso Miles VL 1684 meanwhile is distinguished by its light foam padding, and weight of 127g. This gives performance riders a bit more comfort. Both saddles utilise the new WOW saddle system and are aimed primarily at male road cyclists.
All Velo products are currently being exhibited at Eurobike stand B2-503.
Velo Enterprise, founded in 1979 by Stella Yu, is driven by a ‘vision to create perfect saddles for all types of demanding cyclists.’ Last year, Velo manufactured more than 15 million saddles in its four factories in Taiwan and China.
