When the Outlaw started in 2010, Simon Ward at TriathlonCoach.com wanted to help 100 people finish the long distance event. That figure was surpassed a long time ago; and now he’s offering his experience to more people by offering a unique coaching package where athletes decide what they want to pay!
The Outlaw coaching package starts next Monday 12 January and covers 28 weeks until the Outlaw Triathlon on 26 July 2015.
The package includes the following:
- A training programme based on available training hours;
- Guidance on how to further tailor the programme to specific strengths, weaknesses and goals; and Regular live coaching
- sessions – something usually reserved only for one-to-one coaching customers.
Simon Ward at TriathlonCoach.com said “Triathlon isn’t a cheap sport and because there’s a lot of free information out there many triathletes do without coaching, something they may consider an expensive luxury.
“This is very different, I’ve never offered a group coaching programme and allowed athletes to name their price. But it’s a risk I’m willing to take to demonstrate my dedication to the success of Outlaw athletes.”
He added “By signing up and paying for coaching, athletes are more likely to be successful because they’ll take action on what they are being asked to do and being taught.”
The Outlaw sold out within a few days of entries going live in September. Around 1400 athletes are expected to start the race in Nottingham on 26 July.
Further details about the ‘you decide the price coaching program’ can be found online.
Televised in 2014 and organised by One Step Beyond, Nottingham is the venue for this popular long distance triathlon, which takes place in late July. Over 1000 athletes each year add to the city’s famous sporting heritage as they attempt to finish the course within 17 hours and earn the title of ‘Outlaws’.
With a 2.4 mile swim at the National Watersports Centre, a 112 mile bike in the Nottinghamshire countryside and finishing off with a 26.2 mile run – the Outlaw is amongst the UK’s toughest one day endurance events and sells out rapidly each year.
