The Sochi Ironstar ETU Triathlon European Cup Final in Russia has pulled forward its race date by one day. Originally planned for Sunday 27 September, the European Triathlon Union (ETU) European Cup Final event will now take place on Saturday 26 September. This will allow for the planned (Ironstar branded) middle distance event (1.9K/90K/21.1K) to take place on the Sunday.

With the race weekend hosting not only ETU’s own European Cup Final but also a middle distance race, the intention is to broaden the appeal – attracting Olympic distance and long distance triathletes alike.

The European Triathlon Union (ETU), Russian Federation Triathlon (OFWs), the Ministry of Sports of Russia, Ministry of Sports for the Krasnodar region, Sochi City Administration, in conjunction with Ironstar Triathlon Russia, will represent the weekend of racing this September in Sochi, Russia – capital of the XXII Olympic Winter Games.
