Scottish apparel specialist Endura has added two new products to its portfolio, the Luminite and the Xtract helmets.
Both the Luminite Helmet and the Xtract Helmet are billed as ‘great all-rounders’, designed to appeal to urban cyclists and roadies alike, but also ‘quite at home at the trail centre’. Both helmets feature a ‘very comfortable fit’ with a contemporary, fairly rounded shape that sits a bit lower at the back, offering extra protection to the lower rear of the head.
The main USP of both helmets is the neat, clip in USB-rechargeable rear light with 3 different flash settings, adding extra visibility and safety. It provides up to 40 hours of run time in the fast flash mode. The custom made LED unit has a switch on top, which is raised with a clear click between modes, making it easy to find and operate while the helmet is on top of the head, even with gloves on.
To charge, the unit is simply unclipped from its recessed helmet mounting points and inserted into a USB port.
To cater for a wide variety of head sizes and offer maximum comfort, both models are available in three sizes. The fit can be fully fine-tuned via the rear one-hand dial micro-adjuster and the three position vertical adjustment.
The compact chin strap with twin strap dividers has a reflective thread running through it. A handy insect net lines the front facing vents and keeps unwanted visitors out. The fast wicking, antibacterial padding is very comfortable; it is also removable so that it can be washed or replaced.
The Luminite and Xtract helmets come with a removable visor and a glossy finish (the black one has a smooth matt finish). Both helmets are certified to CE standard EN1078:2012 + A1:2012 and are covered by Endura’s Crash Replacement Policy and Endura Product Guarantee.
The difference between the Luminite and Xtract helmets lies in their reflective elements and colour. The Xtract Helmet is available in red and in white, while the Luminite Helmet comes in bright high-viz green, high-viz yellow and black and is emblazoned with premium high visibility 360 degree safety reflective.
