The Bastion takes place at Hever Castle on 12 July 2015. One of the newest races on the Castle Triathlon Series circuit, it is billed as ‘one of the toughest one-day challenges in the world’. Seasoned triathletes will take on the iconic ‘iron-distance’ covering 3.8km swim, 180km bike course and 42km marathon run, all with a time limit of 17 hours.
Champion pro triathlete Lucy Gossage commented “Having raced more than 10 iron distance races now, I have a good idea of what makes a good race and event. The course on offer at Hever Castle and the personal touch from the Castle Triathlon Series team should make for a great experience. If it weren’t so close to IRONMAN UK I’d be very tempted! I hear the course is tough, so pacing will be critical. Good luck and remember to smile!”
