The Stan’s NoTubes Cyclocross Team has announced the addition of New York native Dan Timmerman to its roster for the 2015-2016 cyclo-cross season. At 34 years old, Timmerman is in the prime of his cyclocross career after having established himself as one of the most accomplished cross racers in the United States.
“I am thrilled to have signed with the Stan’s NoTubes Cyclocross Team for 2015-2016,” said Timmerman. “With my history of riding for NoTubes during the mountain bike season, I’m excited to become a year-round representative of a company that is both local to me and on the cutting edge of innovation.”
Timmerman stood on 11 UCI podiums during the 2014-2015 cyclocross season and finished it off with a fifth place at the US Cyclocross National Championships in Austin, Texas. He is also the current NECX series champion and is ranked fifth overall in the ProCX standings.
“Dan will be a great asset to the team, especially as we compete at the UCI C1 and World Cup level,” said Stan’s NoTubes Cyclocross Team Manager Jake Wells, “And he’ll help us showcase tubeless technology as a viable option for both elite and amateur cyclocross racers.”
Wells added, “With Dan on our team, we’ll be in a better position to make podium consistently, plus his presence gives us even more momentum with our sponsors to build the team for years to come.”
Although the 2015 Stan’s NoTubes Cyclocross Team roster is not finalized, Timmerman will be joining returning pro rider Jake Wells and masters rider Kenny Wehn.
In a prologue to the coming cyclocross season, Timmerman will square off against his perennial rival Justin Lindine when the two race each other on mountain bikes starting this weekend at the NoTubes Trans-Sylvania Epic stage race near State College, Pennsylvania.
Stan’s NoTubes ‘set the industry standard for going tubeless’ with tyres on mountain bikes, road bikes and cyclo-cross bikes. The original NoTubes sealing system was devised in 2001, the same system that today has become a preferred tubeless conversion system around the world.
Stan’s NoTubes also offers a range of mountain bike wheelsets for 26”, 27.5”/650B and 29” sized wheels as well as wheelsets for road and cyclo-cross use.
