General entry for the newly unveiled Ironman Mont Tremblant event in Canada has sold out. Ironman Foundation slots for the new event, slated for August 19, 2012, are now available. The race takes place at Mont Tremblant Resort, one of North America’s premier ski resorts and takes in the beauty of the Laurentians Region of Quebec, Canada.
The Ironman Foundation is the charitable arm of Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corporation (WTC). Since its inception in 2003, The Ironman Foundation has donated close to US$10 million to charitable causes around the globe. A portion of the foundation’s proceeds will be directed back to causes in the Mont Tremblant area.
The Ironman Foundation provides an opportunity for Ironman to help those in the communities that support its events, with a heavy emphasis on providing sports opportunities for children. Once the Ironman event is closed to general entry, a limited number of Ironman Foundation slots are made available for those still wishing to enter.
An Ironman Foundation entry is C$1,350 (tax included), with C$675 going toward the race entry fee and C$675 for the charitable donation. The charitable donation portion is tax deductible to US residents.
