Apparel and footwear brand Under Armour is making in-roads into Thailand with its first flagship store in the country. The outlet is located in Bangkok’s Siam Center shopping mall; the selling space is reported to be 200m².
The shop is run via a joint venture between local retailer Sport Rev and Under Armour’s distributor in the South East Asia region, Triple Private.
Alongside the brand’s first Thailand store, Under Armour already has nine outlets in the region – in Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia. The US brand entered the Thai market in April through an online store dedicated to consumers in the country.
Under Armour recently announced financial results for the second quarter ended 30 June 2015. During the period, the company saw net revenues increase 29% year on year to reach US$784 million.
In tandem with its main apparel business, Under Armour has also been expanding in the digital ‘Connected Fitness’ area. Recent strategic purchases for Under Armour include Endomondo and MyFitnessPal, with MapMyFitness another key acquisition.
