Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon 2015

The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon is being broadcast on UK terrestrial TV station, Channel 4, this Sunday 25 October at 07:05 GMT and Ch4 +1 at 08:05.

The popular event, which returned to the historic walled city of York on Sunday 11 October 2015, attracted elite runners and celebrities to its flat and fast course. With a new 10 mile race for 2015, this festival of running now attracts 10,000 competitors.

The marathon has proved a hit from the word go, with all 6,000+ places for the inaugural 2013 event snapped up in just three days. Athletes – professional and amateur – came from not only across the UK but from France, Spain, Ireland, the USA, Africa and the Caribbean. Capacity was increased to 7,000 in 2014 and the event was again a complete sell out, with all spots last year taken within five hours.

The 2016 event, which takes place on Sunday 9 October, is expected to be just as popular.
