Multisport coaching specialist, Trisutto.com, has recently expanded its coaching and training program with the launch of its squads in Australia, Switzerland and Cyprus. These new squads cater for age-group to elite athletes, facilitating focused workouts in a group training environment.
The Trisutto squads will all be overseen by Coaching Director, Brett Sutton, who works with all coaches. “We’ve seen incredible success over the last few years, and I want to make it available for every pro to access our system of coaching,” Sutton said. “We want our coaches competing to produce the best squads in the world and replicate the professional long course dominance not seen since the days of TeamTBB.”
The initiative has also seen recently retired 11-time IRONMAN winner Mary Beth Ellis coaching IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona winner Emma Bilham and multiple IM top three finisher, Lisa Roberts.
Australia
With Daniela Ryf winning IRONMAN 70.3 Dubai for the third year in a row, the latest expansion marks the first race for athletes in the Trisutto Professional Squads Program. Trisutto also noted that its Australian squad is already making significant gains from its base in Ferny Hills, Brisbane. Australia Head Coach Cameron Watt saw his athletes taking professional podiums, with Josh Amberger second and Sarah Crowley third.
“We are building a professional and junior elite squad with the goal of having Australian athletes compete on the world stage in ITU and long course triathlons,” said Trisutto’s Australia Head Coach , and former UCI Cycling Team Sports Director, Cameron Watt.
Cyprus
In preparation for the event at Dubai, the Trisutto team based in Cyprus launched its professional squad under coach Perry Agass, whose team includes 2 x Olympian and former world number two Anne Haug. The Trisutto squad will have a full-time presence on the Mediterranean island and aims to build both international and domestic athletes of all levels. Trisutto adds that Perry Agass offers the flexibility of both weekly and monthly memberships.
“We see Cyprus as a strategic location for athletes to compete in both Europe, the Middle East and Mediterranean where the sport is growing,” said Agass. “We hope, through the presence of a full-time international squad on the island, to have our athletes in the best condition with lowest travel times to compete on the world stage.”
Switzerland
Trisutto Head European Coach, Jo Spindler, will hold an age-group and professional squad at the Sursee Sports Campus in Switzerland this May. With the completion of the US$70 million sports facility due in 2018, athletes will in future have access to some cutting-edge world class facilities. Spindler will also host regular camps in addition to casual training.
“I am very happy that my squad will be able to benefit from such wonderful facilities, being perfectly placed in central Europe being under an hour to most capital cities in Switzerland,” Jo Spindler said.
These squads provide an alternative to the poplar Trisutto camp programs, offering athletes a year-round base for their training. They also provide the flexibility for athletes to make smaller weekly or monthly membership commitments, enabling flexibility in their training.
Over the coming monthly Trisutto.com will be launching more squads around the world with a variety of membership options and squad levels.
Trisutto.com is billed as the world’s leading professional and age group triathlon coaching team. In 2016 Trisutto.com professional athletes had 42 wins and 76 podiums highlighted with an Olympic Silver Medal for Nicola Spirig in Rio, and a dominating IRONMAN World Championship title defence (and course record) by Daniela Ryf in Kona, Hawaii.
Trisutto.com was represented by 25 athletes at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, with over 50 World Championship qualifiers for the year. The coaching staff is now 30 strong, with 250 athletes, from 36 nations around the world. 300 athletes attended Trisutto.com camps in 2016 in locations that included Asia, Oceania, North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
