According to a release via the Bahrain News Agency, the Bahrain Triathlon Association has ‘announced its historical move of launching the first Triathlon League in the Arab world’.
This move by the association, is an ‘implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. The league will aim to implement frameworks, mechanisms and programmes to make triathlon more prevalent in the Bahraini community and to ensure the expansion of competitions.
Running over an expected nine event rounds, the Triathlon League is scheduled to be launched next Friday 10 February 2017. The Bahrain Triathlon Association is calling on all national clubs and amateurs wishing to participate in the league initiative to register by sending information to the e-mail info[at]triathlon.bh. Enquiries should include a name, date of birth and telephone number.
