TOUGHMAN Brasil returns this weekend, on March 25th, to Paulinia, Brazil, just outside of San Paulo. This event’s festival weekend will have a sprint and an Olympic triathlon as well as the featured event, TOUGHMAN Brasil.
TOUGHMAN Brasil kicks off the TOUGHMAN series for 2018 with qualifying slots to the TOUGHMAN Championship, sponsored by Morgan Stanley, that will take place on Sept 16th in NY. All qualifiers will be eligible for a cash purse while age group qualifiers will compete for over US$30,000 worth of awards.
Rich Izzo, the Founder and CEO of TOUGHMAN, has recently confirmed that Morgan Stanley has got on board as the title sponsor of the Morgan Stanley TOUGHMAN World Championship on Sunday September 16, 2018.
“Having one of the world’s largest financial services companies invest in TOUGHMAN and in the sport of triathlon means the world to me,” said Izzo, who created TOUGHMAN in 2008. “Over the past 12 years we have grown TOUGHMAN nationally and internationally; and by the end of 2018 we will have 15 events around the world. Our first ever TOUGHMAN – and our long time World Championship – will be at spectacular Harriman’s State Park on Sunday September 16th.”
2018 is seen as a huge year for the TOUGHMAN brand. New sponsors to join the TOUGHMAN family are Triathlete Magazine, ‘the number one publication and website in the sport’, as well as sports travel specialist Premium Plus Sports, registration firm Events.com and Lifetime Fitness.
“Having all of our new sponsors joining Polar, Clif Bar and Security Risk Associates, to help grow the TOUGHMAN brand is very special for me,” added TOUGHMAN founder Rich Izzo.
Athletes in South America will also have the opportunity to race in Argentina, Chile (at three separate locations, and Brazil to secure a spot to race in the TOUGHMAN Championship in 2018.

The TOUGHMAN Series currently consists of 15 races in the US and other parts of the world, with current events in Futrono, Chile; Paulinia, Brazil; San Pedro, Argentina; Arica, Chile; Quillon, Chile; Mayaguez, Puerto Rico; and stateside events in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Utah, South Carolina and Tennessee.
The TOUGHMAN Series Championship in Stony Point New York, just 20 miles north of New York city, offers over US$30,000 in age-group awards, a US$4,950 cash purse (top 5) for qualifiers, a scenic bike course, and over 1,400 race support volunteers.
