The Cervélo P5X, billed as ‘the ultimate triathlon bike’, has won the Red Dot Product Design Award 2018. The Red Dot Design Award is an international product design award which has been selecting winners since 1955 for their design achievements. Thousands of submissions are received every year from all over the globe and winning products are then presented in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
“Good design is not defined merely by a product’s appearance,” said Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award. “Instead, it is also expressed through technical innovations and the special touch and feel of a product which, when in harmony with each other, lead to a holistic product design.”
The Red Dot: Best of the Best winners will officially be presented their trophies on stage in the Aalto Theater in Essen, Germany, in front of approximately 1,200 guests on July 9, 2018.
