The University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University are seeking a Triathlon Development Officer. The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering triathlon coaching; a passion for sport and physical activity; and excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.
The University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University are key stakeholders in the Leeds Triathlon Centre, a wider triathlon partnership with British Triathlon and Leeds City Council that seeks to provide ‘the best triathlon training programme in the world’. By working collaboratively, the centre aims to create world champions and Olympic medallists, through enabling a performance pathway from youth to senior level and inspiring and engaging its community.
University triathlon clubs are an important part of the Leeds Triathlon Centre and provide opportunities for all levels of ability to participate and fulfil their own potential in triathlon. The Triathlon Development Officer has key areas of responsibility, which will include coaching the BUCS triathlon squads, growing the participation level triathlon opportunities, and supporting other Leeds Triathlon Centre coaches to deliver the wider coaching programme.
The Triathlon Development Officer will be expected to produce annualised plans for athletes, and to review sessions accordingly.
The candidate should hold a UKCC Level 2 triathlon coaching qualification or equivalent, and have a proven track record as a coach. Working as part of a team, the Triathlon Development Officer will be flexible, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should also have experience of working in partnership within a sporting environment… ‘You will be highly motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative.’
This is a full time role. The hours of work will be varied, across term time to meet the needs of the business, which will include the requirement to work some weekends.
