Ahead of the homecoming for Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas, Bkool is expanded its virtual simulated ride platform – giving cycling fans the chance to ride the same roads as the pros, ahead of the action unfolding at this year’s Tour of Britain. The 15th edition of the modern Tour takes place on 2-9 September 2018.
As the pros put themselves through 8 gruelling stages, using the event’s GPX data users can experience the actual route profiles in Bkool’s 3D world. The latest simulated offering of Tour of Britain stages from the company follows recent simulations such as: Vuelta a Espana, Tour de France, 2018 UCI World Championship at Innsbruck, 2018 Commonwealth Games and Milan-San Remo.
The simulator will include the following stages from this year’s Tour of Britain:
Stage 5 Cockermouth – Whinlatter Pass: a TTT stage that will finish up the punishing Whinlatter Pass. With Team Sky bringing a formidable team to the race will anybody be able to topple them on this stage?
Stage 6 Barrow-In-Furness – Whinlatter: If one time wasn’t enough the peloton will have to haul themselves up the Whinlatter Pass again on stage 6, although this time they will be tackling it from the harder Eastern side.
Stage 9 London – London: The conclusion to the 2018 edition of the race features a 14 lap circuit race around the heart of London. With a bunch sprint likely to ensue the ‘pocket rocket’ Caleb Ewan will be a favourite to add to his three stage wins from the 2017 edition.
