Pre-owned retailer, The Pro’s Closet in partnership with USA Cycling

USA Cycling has announced a new partnership with The Pro’s Closet, which is billed as ‘the world’s largest and most trusted brand in pre-owned bikes and components.’

As an Official Supplier of USA Cycling (USAC), The Pro’s Closet notes that it is ‘excited to help shape the future of cycling by offering high-quality gear at affordable prices to make it especially easy for youth to be a part of the sport of cycling.’

“As part of our Certified Pre-Owned program and Buyback Guarantee, we look forward to supporting all USAC members, especially fast-growing junior racers, by removing the high cost and rapid depreciation of buying new bikes,” said Matt Heitmann, Chief Marketing Officer at The Pro’s Closet. “After all, bikes are meant to be used.”

This partnership offers purchase incentives for USAC members. Licensed riders will benefit from The Pro’s Closet Certified Pre-Owned program. This includes a 141-point inspection and parts replacement service so that every bike purchased is in ‘near-as-new condition’.

‘Whether riders are looking for a new race rig or, as is the case for many junior racers, have simply outgrown their current bike, the Guaranteed Buyback program offered by The Pro’s Closet gives cyclists a no-hassle way to buy, sell, or trade-in within the first 18 months of ownership.’

“USA Cycling is proud to work with The Pro’s Closet in our efforts to lower the barrier to entry for racing for all riders,” said Rob DeMartini, President and CEO of USA Cycling.

“Our goal is to enable more people to experience the joy of riding a bike, and partnering with The Pro’s Closet allows us to help cyclists obtain the gear they need, whether they’re getting started or going for the top podium spot.”

The Pro’s Closet has grown since its inception as an eBay store in 2006. With an aim of removing the risk and uncertainty around buying and selling pre-owned bikes, the Boulder-based company has grown its ability to process bikes, currently maintaining a ready-to-ship inventory of more than 800 bikes at any time.

This recent partnership with USA Cycling is seen as The Pro’s Closet’s latest step toward ‘making bicycling more accessible for everyone from first-time riders to pro-level racers and supports its mission to promote sustainability through cycling.’
