Treadmill running for good: Zwift’s mission to support Great Ormond Street Hospital throughout April

Zwift, the online cycle and run training & racing platform, has announced the launch of its Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) mission that will run throughout April.

The aim of the GOSH mission is for the Zwift community to run 18,000 hours this month which will unlock a donation of US$25,000. The 18,000 hours is in honour of the 18,000 children who visit GOSH each month.

Each individual that completes over 4 hours running on Zwift will unlock a ‘virtual GOSH run kit for their garage’. Any additional hours will count towards the 18,000 hour goal.

Zwift Run enables runners from across the globe to run together and compete. Zwift notes that ‘the social side of Zwift Run is great at a time when many are isolated.’

Zwift Run can be used either with a Bluetooth treadmill or a £37.00 Bluetooth footpod with a standard treadmill.

‘Zwift with Reason is a commitment to supporting charitable causes through the power of sport, with the goal of championing causes that elevate people and communities around the world. We engage our community of cyclists, runners, and triathletes to actively participate – their collective efforts on Zwift unlock donations for various charities and non-profit organizations.’

Zwift adds… ‘With over 1.5 million members having either run or cycled on the app since its formation in 2014, Zwift offers unique indoor group runs, dynamic training plans from 5k to the marathon, and intense interval sessions. Among the app’s biggest advocates are Olympic champions Sir Mo Farah and Gwen Jorgensen.’
