Originally scheduled for June 14, 2020, IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman in Cambridge, Maryland, now has a rescheduled date planned for September 2020.
After assessing all event scenarios, and to best meet the needs of athletes and the Cambridge community, IRONMAN has shared the news that the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman triathlon is now scheduled to take place on September 19, 2020. The newly rescheduled event will be held in conjunction with the 2020 Select Blinds IRONMAN Maryland triathlon.
Athletes that are registered for the 70.3 event will be receiving an email with further information. A release from IRONMAN added, ‘while we are prevented from holding the event on the original date, we are looking forward to providing athletes with an exceptional race experience in the future.’
IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman has been running in the local area for over 20 years. IRONMAN Maryland was added to the M-Dot global calendar of events in 2014.
The two events in Maryland have built strong local ties. In September 2018, IRONMAN confirmed a five-year extension with Dorchester County and the City of Cambridge to host IRONMAN Maryland and IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman in Cambridge, Maryland, annually through 2023.
