P ZERO Race tubeless road tyres from Pirelli

Pirelli has released P ZERO Race TLR and P ZERO Race TLR SL, tubeless road tyres that, according to the company, ‘represent the spearhead of its line dedicated to professional road racing and high-performance cycling.’

Developed in collaboration with two World Tour teams – Mitchelton-SCOTT and Trek-Segafredo – the new P ZERO Race TLR tyres are being targeted at pro races in the UCI’s top-flight.

Pirelli’s new tubeless-ready tyres are made with SmartEVO, an innovative compound that’s an evolution of the original SmartNET.

  • P ZERO Race TLR is positioned as an all-around tyre, for competition as well as use in training. It features a TLR casing reinforced by Pirelli TechWALL+ technology.
  • P ZERO Race TLR SL is billed as the lightest and most performing tyre ever produced by Pirelli in its range dedicated to cycling.

The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend with three different polymers, each providing specific performance qualities to achieve an optimal balance of opposing characteristics, such as grip and rolling resistance.

Pirelli claims that the compound result in a better grip on dry and wet, while also providing a lower rolling resistance.

The company adds that it has ‘created a performance compound designed and tuned for all the modern cycling road disciplines, from local or World Tour racing to epic adventures, where climate and road surfaces demand tyres that perform in all circumstances.’
