IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta 2020 cancelled, back in 2021

IRONMAN has confirmed the cancellation of IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta, in Georgia, USA, this September. The event is, however, scheduled to return in 2021.

Originally established as an event in 2009, Augusta is home to North America’s largest IRONMAN 70.3 race. It is also one of its fastest – featuring a quick downriver swim and finishing with a flat downtown run course.

IRONMAN issued the following statement…

‘With the health and safety of our community being an utmost priority, and after further evaluation with local authorities in relation to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to advise that the IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon cannot take place in 2020 and will return on September 26, 2021.

‘All registered athletes of the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon will be receiving an email with further information. In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we thank our athletes for their commitment and look forward to providing them with an exceptional race experience in the future.’
